The Graduate Degree Candidate (GDC) will formulate an Emotional-Wellness Plan (EWP) for a new employee and the employee’s significant other. The GDC will construct an orientation for the employee and significant other to be facilitated upon initial employment. The orientation will include a discussion on the symptoms of degradation of emotional wellness, the identification and ownership of areas of control and contributors to chronic career fatigue (burnout). The GDC will develop a personalized path to emotional wellness for the employee and his/her significant other. Finally, the GDC will chart an emotional wellness plan to span the employee’s career.
Week 4: Direct employees to appropriate support mechanisms – How would you direct the employee to appropriate support mechanisms based on this plan (i.e. incorporate support into this plan) and how might you intervene with support if you recognized a critical incident stress sign or other sign of wellness needs (add a few paragraphs citing support resources you researched)
Make sure to use the rubric included to help you. This assessment should include:
Support mechanisms (what support services are available?)
How might you recognize a critical incident (i.e. PTSD) or other sign of wellness needs? and what would you do about it?
Emotional-wellness orientation for employee and their significant other
Symptoms for degradation of emotional wellness
Chronic career fatigue
Personalized path for employee and significant other to achieve emotional wellness
Make sure this is designed to cover the entire span of the employee's career
(Some of you included some of the above in last week's assessment and some didn't - if you didn't, include it this week. If you did, expand on last week's to include the highlighted and/or look over to see what you haven't included. I realize now that my directions could have maybe been a little more clear; I will adjust for the next time I teach this - sorry about that!)
