Numerous forms of technology have been created in recent years that may be helpful to public safety agencies. Identify a form of technology that you advocate adopting for your fictional agency. Write a proposal for the technology. You would also serve as project manager for the implementation of the technology into the agency.
Identify:
1) What is the technology you are advocating? What is the potential value and why should this agency adopt the technology when faced with other needs?
2) What are preliminary budget estimates for adoption of this technology? Consider the size or your agency, amount of employees, etc. Also, is this a one-time cost, annual expenditure, etc. You don't need a greatly detailed budget, but should have a general idea of the costs. Due to the short time frame for this project, some estimates are acceptable.
3) Who would be involved in making a decision on the implementation of this technology? Who should you get feedback and input from on the project?
4) Define the problem you are addressing.
5) Develop solution options.
6) Plan the project.
7) How will you execute the plan?
8) How will you control and monitor the progress?
9) What is your role as project manager?
