Work-product: The Professor wants to see your ability to think, reason and apply urban planning and urban design concepts that were covered in class and in the assigned reading materials. Maximum page length: ten (10) pages includes all exhibits.
Questions you must answer:
1. Based on your review of the West End Plan for Vancouver, B.C., explain how the Plan is really nothing more than a “Super-sized Big-Mac.”
2. Based on your review of the Greenville S.C. Downtown Strategic Master Plan, explain how urban planning and urban design are interrelated.
3. What do we do with all the people coming to Florida everyday that flood our roads, beaches, and supermarkets? Basically, how do you plan for all these people coming into your backyard for the next 20+ years and make sure your quality of live is not adversely impacted? No, we cannot send them back to New York or South America-- they are here and will continue to come here, so learn to plan for it.
