After reading Ellen Ott Marshall’s Introduction to Christian Ethics: Conflict, Faith, and Human Life, write a 4-page paper in which you 1) discuss how Marshall characterizes the relationship of Christian and ministerial ethics to conflict 2) identify and briefly describe a church or broader community conflict that concerns you and 3) describe ways that Marshall’s insights might apply to that conflict. A strong paper will follow the assignment description, demonstrate familiarity with Marshall’s book without using frequent or lengthy direct quotes, and integrate Marshall’s thoughts with your own. This assignment does not ask for a summary of Marshall’s book. A paper that uses a lot of time and space summarizing the book will be a weak paper.
