Literature Review

Attachment 1 is instructions and examples for writing the literature review and Attachment 2 is the 10 sources that are going to be used for my literature review. 

Topic I am focusing on:

The public policy issue I want to look at is lowering food insecurity in Kentucky. Since the pandemic the rates of food insecurity has increased. During a conference last month at the White House anti-hunger advocates from Kentucky were present and the Biden Administration discussed aiming to end Hunger by 2030 through implementing legislation. During the conferences advocates from Kentucky Equal Justice Center, Feeding America, and Feeding Kentucky suggested loosening eligibility for SNAP for lower income earners and bringing back those programs that were used during the pandemic. People are feeling the aftermath and food inflation has affected more groups of people. Back in April Governor Beshear vetoed the HB 7 bill which would have negatively affected many Kentuckians, but food insecurity is still a prevalent issue here and temporarily redefining the parameters on SNAP eligibility may help. This policy issue in the policy formulation stage at the state level.
