Based on your problem statement in Assessment 2, you now need to develop solutions using the structured solution development process (in Topic 1, Module 7) and pitch your solution to your target audience. You will create a video pitch and submit it here.
Using the Basic Template for A3 PPT Download Basic Template for A3 PPT, your PowerPoint presentation must include:

Reference List
As required
Total number of slides allowed (excluding reference list)
9
Students SHOULD NOT use the same case discussed in the workshops and course teams site.
We recommend students stick to 9 slides, but it is fine to exceed 9 slides provided your time manage well, and pitch is kept within the 5 minutes plus/minus 10% allowances. Also, note the effective transition between each slide (refer to the A3 marking rubric). Please note any presentation that exceeds 6 minutes will NOT BE GRADED.
The recording should show your face and the screen with the PPT slides. The presentation video should be audible. If your voice in the presentation is inaudible, the marker will not be able to grade your presentation and you will be penalised according to the marking rubric.
You are required to use the frameworks and methods taught in the relevant modules.
References:
Use research and referencing (APA7 style) to support your ideas. Remember to use in-text referencing throughout your slides.
If diagrams, pictures, figures or tables are used, these must have in-text referencing and be included in the reference list.
A minimum of 6 references is required with at least half of them from academic/ business sources, such as peer-reviewed/ academic journal articles and credible publications like government, business or industry (avoid unsubstantiated sources that are not credible or reliable like Wikipedia, blogs, Course Hero, etc.).
Think about the application of the first 4 steps of the structured solution development to formulate and test the hypothesis statements/ solutions (Module 7):
Identify the decision to be made (start with the end in mind).
Develop possible solutions.
Formulate solution hypothesis.
Test solution hypothesis.
This process was practised in week 7 workshops. Please review the recorded online week 7 workshops. (Note: In the A3 presentation, there is no requirement to explain how you develop the solution hypothesis step by step).
Your solution hypotheses^ and selected solution need to take into consideration ethics and sustainability (Module 8). (^ Solution hypotheses are proposed solutions you are going to test to see if it works e.g., mandating GPS tags for repeat offenders will reduce youth crime).
Your solutions must be supported by credible sources. For example, actual real-world solutions already implemented successfully, or if it has not been implemented yet, use credible sources to support why you believe your proposed solution will work.
Important: your proposed solution should add ‘value’ beyond just talking about existing solutions published in the academic literature and credible sources. You could demonstrate ‘value-add’ by incorporating the correct application of concepts/ framework/ techniques taught in this course such as systems thinking, design thinking, etc.
Identify which one is the most effective solution (the solution to implement). Remember, you need to convince your audience why this is the most effective solution.
Your selected solution needs to be S.M.A.R.T. (Module 10, Topic 1).
Format and Submission
(1) A video
Note: The marker will grade your A3 based on what we can view from the submitted video.
AND
(2) PPT slides (without the Video Presentation and narration - should be less than 10MB in file size). The PPT slides attachment should only contain the slides, not your video recording.
Note: We require your PPT slides (PDF is acceptable) solely for the purpose of checking for originality issues (The PPT slides will not be marked)
Use the Basic Template for A3 PPT and its headings (do not invent your own headings, template and structure).
The basic template for A3 PPT comes with a basic white background. It is not essential, but you are encouraged to customise the background and design of the slides to make them more visually attractive and engaging.
Like in any presentation, you may use diagrams, figures, tables, pictures or any visual aids to make your presentation interesting.
Avoid excessive text or very small font (it is not good if your audience struggles to read the text or there is too much text to read).
You need to record your presentation with your face visible on the screen.
The ‘pitching’/ ‘marketing’/ ‘selling’ of your solution(s) should be de.
