SMART Goals

Review the SMART Goals Identification and Execution Plan assignment that you completed at the beginning of the semester. In this assignment, you are to provide an evaluation and reflection on the process. The questions to consider are outlined below. Be sure to present this information in a detailed, narrative format with clear explanations. The document should be double-spaced with normal margins.

1. For each SMART Goal, state the goal and answer the following in detail. Please make sure that you address each of your two goals in separate paragraphs.

a. Briefly review why this goal important to you professionally and/or personally? Did your experience change your perception of this goal?

b. What value did working toward this goal add to your professional development?

c. What new skills did you gain as a result of this goal setting assignment?

d. How did this goal benefit or add value to the organization (internship site)?

2. Goal Progression and Achievement

a. Did you achieve the initial goals you set? Why or why not?

b. How did you monitor if these goals were achieved or reached? Was your supervisor actively engaged in helping you reach your goals?

c. What challenges or unforeseen circumstances did you face? Were these challenges that you anticpated when you set the goal? How did you overcome these challenges?

d. Did any choices, behaviors, or workplace factors create obstacles for you when attempting to achieve these goals?

e. What would you go back and change about the execution of this goal?

3. What are your major takeaways from working through the SMART goals process (discuss at least two)? Did you find this process beneficial? Why or why not?
