First, you should read Chapter 11, “ Political Capital," in the Green and Haines' Asset Building & Community Development.
Then, before midnight on Friday, October 4, 2024, click into the "CBOs and Political Capital" Discussion and post an original Essay or 500 words or more about one of the national centers focusing on Community Based Organization (CBO) political activities [The Industrial Area Foundation (IAF), the Gamaliel Foundation, or the Highlander Center].
This ESSAY must be entirely in your own words (no direct quotations from anywhere) and should be based primarily on the information provided by the assigned reading. You may use outside sources to beef up your exposition, but do not "cut and paste" from them. Be creative. You have the ability to post pictures, videos, audio recordings, internet hyperlinks, and more--use these to liven up your ESSAY.
Your ESSAY should not only include information about these organizations, but about the type of COMMUNITY ORGANIZING MODEL each represents.
