• Write a 3-5 page paper about Volunteering in the community (I volunteered as a Mentor for young girls at an elementary school) Please write about this

• Apply two scholarly (peer-reviewed or research) articles and the Hutchison text. • Identify and briefly describe the organization with which you volunteered and your experience.

• Reflect on your experience. What are the major social "problems" (i.e. identify two to three issues) relevant to the participants, organization and/or surrounding community. Provide a rational for your answer.

• Apply the dimensions of person and time to one of the identified social problems.

• Briefly identify and describe two theoretical perspectives (cite Hutchison, E. D. and Charlesworth, L.W. (2024). Dimensions of Human Behavior: Person and Environment (7th Edition). Thousand Oaks, CA: Sage. ) that may be helpful in enhancing social workers' understanding of the identified social problems. Discuss how each perspective may facilitate engagement, assessment, intervention or evaluation of practice with clients and constituencies at the level of organizations and communities.

• Given the social problems and your theoretical analysis of this social problem, discuss 3 strategies to promote social and economic justice and human rights at the organization and community level

Tips for the paper

1 • Write 1-2 pages on your volunteer experience. Include information about the organization where you volunteered and identify 2-3 social problems that affect the participants, staff and community.

•Write about a 1 page on the dimensions of person (biological, psychological and spiritual) and time (chronological, historic and linear) that you will apply to the social problem.

• Write 1 page when applying the two theoretical perspectives from the Hutchison text. You can use theories from Chapter 7, 12 & 13.

• Review the theoretical perspectives and related theories in Chapter 2. Each perspective provides info on the usefulness in social work practice.

• Write about a 1 page for social work strategies.

• The scholarly articles can be referenced anywhere in the paper. Review the theoretical perspectives and related theories in chapter two.
