This has lead me to reflect on my current community and the culture that has been created within the community regarding law enforcement. In my community there is low crime rates of murder and while having higher crime rates regarding substance use and theft. We have a community facebook page and facebook police scanner page where many of the comments are negatively directed towards law enforcement such as, "they won't do anything," or comments indicating that law enforcement provides no help to citizens. I want to continue thinking about ways to bridge this gap to bring the community closer with feelings of support.
