Project description

DUE: SUNDAY MAY 18, 2025 AT 12PM EST

ASSIGNMENT: You began or returned to college for important reasons, and one of those reasons is to learn new skills or expand on your current skills. Therefore, the purpose of the essay you will write in this course is for you to tell your reader (your essay evaluator) three skills you hope to learn or improve on while in college. For each of your course assignments, you will build one section of your essay until you have a final version.

In this second Touchstone, you will create an outline for your essay using the thesis statement that you developed in Touchstone 1.1

A. Assignment Guidelines

DIRECTIONS: Create a topic outline in which you:

Use short phrases rather than complete sentences

Include an introduction section with your thesis.

Identify three main ideas that will make up each of your body paragraphs. These ideas should involve the same three skills you identified in your thesis statement for Touchstone 1.1.

Identify two supporting points for each main idea. These points should help explain why learning each particular skill is important to you.

Include a conclusion section in which you restate your thesis in different words and provide a concluding thought.

Minimize mechanical and stylistic errors.

Please do NOT write your whole essay in this assignment. You will create the essay step-by-step each unit for final submission in Unit 4. Creating your outline is the second step in creating your essay.
