There a risks for both parties whom are participating in a forensic assessment should the results not be an accurate display of the patient’s actual forensic assessment. Lying on an assessment could endanger oneself and others because the inmate or patient lied to reap the benefits of not being deemed a threat after they have committed a crime. A forensic assessment is an assessment assigned to a patient or offender by the court or attorney. So if there is tampering on the patient or offenders end they waive the right ultimately for the inclusion of the assessment in the trial which could work severely against them. Now, if the assessment has been tampered with by the assessment moderator, then they have participated in directly violating the rule of ethics that they swore they would abide by when they accepted the case and client that went along with it. Which again will eliminate the assessment from being used in the trial and will most likely lead to the firing of the forensic psychology professional and a possible revoking of their license.
