A company that is currently experience a serious ethical issue, is a financial company here in North Carolina. From this point on the financial company will be known as “Financial.” Currently, one of the bigger ethical issues the company is facing is a conflict of interest on their hiring procedures as wells as fear for job security. Everyone associated with “Financial” is either related to the owner of the company or is in the owner’s good standing. However, with that being said, the employees are having to walk on eggshells to not get fired, and the owners constantly change their probation criteria during the process of hiring, probation, and full-time employment. Even if an individual’s skills are more refined, they have more experience, or if they work better with the team, “Financial” has been known to choose candidates that they like, or have a personal relationship with.
