The top most important takeaways from this course are knowing what you are walking into and assess what is happening around you before stepping in, how important systems thinking can be, and being able to help clients determine how relationships and culture may affect workplace environments. With these key takeaways, it has changed my perception of the OD field due to the amount of work that’s goes into creating a successful environment and learning new skills that could be beneficial in multiple settings. These perceptions have changed from the first week due to learning more about organizational development as a whole and how beneficial it can be. Along with these takeaways and the perception changes, some professional development activities that I will pursue in the next 6 months are to harness my skills and the knew knowledge that I have acquired about organizational development. This could be from reading or attending webinars that go more in depth on all aspects of organizational development.

            Throughout this course, I have learned a lot and have grown a lot in knowledge, not only about myself through the assessments but also about organizational development and how useful it can be. These assessments can be used by OD consultants to benefit individuals and organizations because it causes them to critically think and assess their emotional intelligence. Along with that, those assessments provide employers the opportunity to see an employees strengths and weaknesses and be able to give all employees the opportunity to build on their skills. Overall, this class has taught me a lot, and I am grateful for the connections made, the advise and feedback from everyone, and the knowledge that I have gained.
